Spaces like action is a two part 6 hour workshop joining discussion with hands on work about spontaneous architecture and typical ways of living. Discussion will focus little daily rituals and stories connected to the objects and places where we live to draw the attention towards the multitude of living models possible. The aim is to value the typical spaces of a specific culture as an alternative to globalization. Together with the participants we will identify some examples of Danish typical spaces and use one of them for building a new project for the community. The first day will be mainly about discussion and project development and the second will be about construction. Since people might be interested in just one of these two parts, they can attend the workshop for its whole length or just join for one day (either discussion or construction).
Cristina Gallizioli, Marco Ferrari and Maria Giulia Milani are convening this experiment and they all hold Masters in Architecture and are the founding partner of Spaces like Actions and Studio Aidel. Between them they have been a Junior Architect at CF Møller, Copenhagen, Artist in residence in the UNESCO center Oficinas do Convento, Portugal, periodically publishing articles for the art magazine Artwort, an architect in the Danish office Dorte Mandrup, worked for the design firm Cassina in Milan, in Japan in for Sou Fujimoto architecture office.
