The Worker Cooperative
– How to create a Worker-Owned Business

How is a Worker Cooperative different form any other business or workplace? Can it help us create better jobs, better lives and a better world? And if so, how do we set it up?

This workshop gives an introduction to the worker cooperative: A business created and co-owned by its employees. Introducing Danish and International cases, we’ll start out taking a brief look at, why worker coops are formed, and what they can achieve. Then we’ll get practical, exploring together what kinds of worker coops we may wish to create, and how we can set them up.

Ulrik works as a consultant with Kooperationen: A Danish employers’ organizations, who organize a great variety of cooperatives and social enterprises. As a part of his work he advices entrepreneurs in setting up and scaling viable businesses formed as cooperatives or social enterprises.
